In November 2025, Luna Somnium was presented at Noor Riyadh, one of the world's largest annual light art festivals, in a radically different configuration. For the first time, the work did not depend on an existing building for its installation: a freestanding structure was built specifically to host the sphere outdoors, making Luna Somnium a fully self-contained architecture open to the night sky.

After its première inside the Gasometer in Rome and a subsequent adaptation at Gallerie Mercatali in Verona, the Noor Riyadh edition marked a significant step for the work: for the first time, Luna Somnium was installed as a fully freestanding outdoor structure — a 20 × 20 × 27.5-meter black truss supporting a 10-meter inflatable sphere with seamless 360° projection mapping, 12-channel spatial audio, and a choreographed light design integrating Ayrton Cobra beam lights and GLP JDC2 IP strobes.

The open-air setting introduced new challenges compared to the enclosed environments of Rome and Verona. The sphere and projection system had to perform in variable weather conditions, while the absence of surrounding walls fundamentally changed the acoustic behaviour of the space.
The 12-channel sound system was redesigned to work without architectural reflections, creating an immersive audio environment in a completely open context.
