Artificial Botany .phase is a tailored adaptation of Artificial Botany .morphos designed specifically for the 41 LED columns distributed throughout the Media Garden at CUBO Unipol in Bologna (IT). The piece was first exhibited during the studio's solo show at CUBO Unipol in 2022. It was later featured during the Artificial Botany exhibition at the San Francisco Italian Cultural Center in 2023, where two pieces acquired by Unipol were shipped and displayed.

While retaining the aesthetic and visual impact of Artificial Botany .morphos, the piece needed to be adapted for the unique configuration of the bars: in fact, each column is made up of a matrix of 3,071 high luminosity RGB LEDs giving a total of 125,952 LEDs each controlled from the server room through 2.75km of optic fibre. As a result, the botanical metamorphoses displayed on the columns have a more granular appearance compared to other pieces in the series, due to the lower resolution of the bars.

In the section of the Media Garden where the columns are arranged in a circle, the 360° audio system enhances the piece, providing a more immersive and encompassing experience.
