Seed0579 is one of the prints contained in a diptych also including Seed0242. Commissioned and created on the occasion of fuse* solo show “Mutamenti” (2022) at CUBO Bologna (IT), the piece has been realised starting from an Artificial Botany dataset comprising the dry herbarium and the illustrated herbarium by Italian botanist Ulisse Aldrovandi.

Depicting two different plants from the dry herbarium of the botanist, the print freezes them in time, blocking them in one of the countless possible iterations of the machine learning system.
